PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveying device that can suppress instability in regulation of belt skew caused by instability of the attitude of a regulation receiving part that enters a regulation application part formed by a regulation part and the regulation receiving part, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a belt conveying device 80 including a plurality of support rollers 61, 62, 63, and 64, an endless belt 65, a regulation part 103 that regulates the movement in the width direction of the belt 65, and a regulation receiving part 101 that is in contact with the regulation part 103 to receive the regulation force of the regulation part 103, the belt conveying device 80 further including support members 104 and 105 that are arranged opposite to each other on the inner peripheral surface side and the outer peripheral surface side of an end in the width direction of the belt 65, on the upstream side of the support roller 64 where the regulation part 103 is provided in the conveyance direction of the belt 65, so as to regulate the position of the regulation receiving part 101 when the regulation receiving part 101 enters a contact part of the regulation receiving part and the regulation part 103. |
