PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which uses an annular polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer protection film excellent in adhesion to a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer, thereby having excellent adhesion between the polarizer and the polarizer protection film.SOLUTION: In a production method according to the present invention, a polarizer protection film is produced by bringing a surface of a cyclic polyolefin-based film into contact with a polymerizable monomer-containing solution, thereby performing surface treatment on the cyclic polyolefin-based film. The polymerizable monomer-containing solution contains a mixed solvent of a good solvent and a poor solvent for the cyclic polyolefin-based film and the polymerizable monomer having a hydroxyl group, an amide group, and a polymerizable functional group in one molecule. The content of the polymerizable monomer in the polymerizable monomer-containing solution is preferably 0.02 wt% or more. At least one surface of a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer (10) and the treated surface of the cyclic polyolefin-based polarizer protection film (21) are laminated via an adhesive (31), thereby producing a polarizer (50). |
