PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boundary detection method enabling boundaries among different types of laminated materials to be accurately detected in a cross-sectional image along the lamination direction of a member configured by laminating the plurality of types of materials.SOLUTION: The boundary detection method for detecting laminate boundaries being boundaries of different types of materials, for a laminate material formed by laminating the plurality of different types of materials, includes: an imaging step of capturing an image 1 of the laminate material including laminate boundaries; feature quantity detection step of detecting feature quantities representing variation in luminances caused by differences in grain size distributions of a detection image 2 obtained from the image 1 captured by the imaging step; and a laminate boundary detection step of detecting the laminate boundaries in the detection image 2 on the basis of the feature quantities detected by the feature quantity detection step. |
