PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for olefin polymerization which has excellent catalytic activity and provides a more useful olefin polymer, and to provide a method for producing the olefin polymer.SOLUTION: Provided is a catalyst for olefin polymerization comprising: as a post-metallocene compound, a transition compound component comprising a hafnium compound having a ligand where a pyridyl group and an amide group are bonded at the 2-position of the pyridyl group; and, further, at least one compound selected from (B-1) an organometallic compound, (B-2) an organoaluminum oxy compound, and a compound which reacts with a transition metal compound (I) to form an ion pair. |
