The gear shift operation mechanism is provided with: a screw shaft (31) that constitutes a ball screw (13); a motor (12) that causes the screw shaft (31) to rotate; a nut (33) that is screwed to the screw shaft (31); a clutch (16) that is arranged on the screw shaft (31); and a selection lever (17) that is integrated with the screw shaft (31) by switching on the clutch (16) and that is released from being restrained with respect to the screw shaft (31) by switching off the clutch (16). One end of a main lever (14) engages with the nut (33), the other end engages or connects with a shaft (18), and the selection lever (17) is engaged with the main lever (14).
