PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation element with which a magnetostrictive rod and a rigid rod can hardly be damaged, and the magnetostrictive rod and the rigid rod can hardly come out to the inside in the axial direction.SOLUTION: Movements of a magnetostrictive rod 10 and a rigid rod 20 to the inside in the axial direction are restricted by engaging engaging portions 34, 35 with to-be-engaged portions 13, 23. The movements of the magnetostrictive rod 10 and the rigid rod 20 in a mutually separating direction are restricted by a second member 60, by bringing the second member 60 into contact with the engaging portions 34, 35 (contact portions), and thereby the engagement of the engaging portions 34, 35 and the to-be-engaged portions 13, 23 is maintained. Since the engaging portions 34, 35 (contact portions) are disposed outside a projection plane where axial end portions of the magnetostrictive rod 10 and the rigid rod 20 are projected in a direction opposing to the magnetostrictive rod 10 and the rigid rod 20, a load applied by the second member 60 to the magnetostrictive rod 10 and the rigid rod 20 can be reduced. Therefore, the magnetostrictive rod 10 and the rigid rod 20 can hardly be damaged. |
