Provided are a video playback system and method. The video playback system comprises: a first terminal, a second terminal and a cloud server. The cloud server is used for providing playback content, the playback content being provided with index information, the index information being related to the playback content. The first terminal is used for acquiring the playback content from the cloud server and displaying the playback content, and sending the index information to the second terminal. The second terminal is used for acquiring expansion content corresponding to the index information, and synchronously displaying the expansion content during playback of the playback content. The present video playback system allows a viewer to more conveniently find out related information, while not affecting normal viewing of a network video by the viewer, thereby significantly expanding the content of the network video, and providing the user with a better viewing experience. |
