Disclosed is a method for constructing an animal model of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, comprising anesthetizing a rat and injecting a drug towards the inside of the nucleus into the insular cortex inside the brain by inserting a glass micro-electrode directly connected to a micro-injection device into the insular cortex. A symptom of dyspnea similar to that of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome can be produced by stimulating the insular cortex using the method of the present invention, thus enabling the successful construction of an animal model of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
