PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate, from an image obtained by photographing, an image based on virtual photographing conditions different from those at a photographing time while maintaining a positional relationship between a main subject and a background subject.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus acquires an input image obtained by photographing, and classifies the input image into a main subject region and a background region. On the basis of a positional relationship in photographing environment between a main subject and a background subject at the time of photographing the input image, the image processing apparatus determines virtual photographing conditions corresponding to an output image to be generated. The image processing apparatus transforms the image classified from the input image into the background region, and generates, for the output image, a background image corresponding to the determined photographing conditions. The image processing apparatus generates the output image by combining the image classified from the input image into the main subject region and the background image. |
