PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image generation method.SOLUTION: A method for generating a color image includes: a process of preparing an input image from an image source; a process of generating a three-dimensional lookup table for converting input image color data into output image color data in an image rendering unit; a process of loading at least the three-dimensional lookup table in an image color rendering controller; a process of loading input image data in an imaging color rendering controller; a process of processing the data of an input image via at least the three-dimensional lookup table for generating an output color value stored in the address of at least the three-dimensional lookup table; and a process of outputting an output color value to the image rendering unit for generating the output image to be perceived to have at least one of increased luminance, increased contrast and increased saturation compared with the input image.
