<p>A container apparatus has: a container body (10) defining a storage region (14) for storing a material (60) and defining an opening via which the material may be removed; a lid (30) 5 for closing the opening; and a member (50) moveable within the storage region and forcible against the material (60). The member (50) may provide a sealing peripheral sealing portion (56) adapted to seal against an interior wall of the storage region (14), and may be pushed into the storage region (14) and onto the material (60) to provide a substantially air tight barrier between a first part of the storage region, in which material is 10 stored, and a second part of the storage region in which substantially none of said material is stored, thereby protecting the stored material against exposure to air.
