PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat recovery device capable of stably recovering waste heat in a wide range from an engine load low state to an engine load high state, and to provide a waste heat recovery method.SOLUTION: A waste heat recovery device (10) includes: a heater (12) which conducts heat exchange between supercharged air supplied to an engine (3) and a working medium to evaporate the working medium; a heat exchanger (14) which conducts heat exchange between the working medium flowing out from the heater (12) and a heating medium to heat the working medium; an expander (16) into which the working medium flowing out from the heat exchanger (14) flows; a power recovery machine (18); a condenser (20) which condenses the working medium; and a pump (22) which feeds the working medium to the heater (12).
