POWER MANAGEMENT AMONG MULTIPLE WIRELESS INTERFACES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power management in high-frequency (HF) wireless systems.SOLUTION: An apparatus 400 for wireless communications includes a processing system. The processing system is configured to turn off a first wireless interface configured to support communications within a first coverage area 401. The processing system is further configured to communicate with a second apparatus 403 using a second wireless interface configured to support communications within a second coverage area 402 greater than the first coverage area. The processing system is further configured to turn on the first wireless interface on the basis of the communication with the second apparatus 403.
