PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength control method and a device for wavelength-variable laser that can suppress variation of oscillation wavelength caused by heat at the switching time of the wavelength in a TDA-DFB laser array.SOLUTION: Active layer current Ia to be injected into an active waveguide layer 2 of a TDA-DFB laser to be oscillated is set to be constant when the wavelength is switched in a TDA-DFB laser array 100. Control layer current It to be injected into a non-active waveguide layer 3 is set to a current value which is matched with a desired wavelength on the basis of the corresponding relationship between pre-measured wavelengths and current injected into the non-active waveguide layer 3, and current having a wavelength having a time constant as a part of the wavelength is set in conformity with wavelength variation caused by thermal drift. Current is injected into the non-active waveguide layer of an adjacent TA-DFB laser, and it is operated as a thermal compensation mechanism. The waveforms of the active layer current Ia, the control layer current It and the thermal compensation current are formed so that the total current amount to be injected to TDA-DFB lasers in the TDA-DFB laser array 100 is constant. |
