PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve improvement of image quality when an abnormal nozzle exists.SOLUTION: A printer transports a matter to be printed in a first direction, moving a print head having a nozzle array in a second direction intersecting with the first direction and a third direction opposite to the second direction and discharges ink from nozzles during movement thereof. The printer is provided with a discharge control section controlling discharge of the ink from the nozzles in response to half tone data allocated to the nozzles. The print head is moved in the second direction or the third direction on a band area of the matter to be printed for each nozzle group when the nozzle array is divided into a plurality of nozzle groups constituted of a predetermined number of nozzles disposed side-by-side in the first direction. The discharge control section allocates the half tone data allocated to an abnormal nozzle to a nozzle included in the other nozzle group moved on the band area in the same direction as that of a first nozzle group when the abnormal nozzle is included in the first nozzle group in the case where the half tone data are allocated to the nozzles constituting the first nozzle group. |
