PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that prevents a reduction in quality of read images.SOLUTION: An image reading device optically reads a white reference board provided on a document platen on which a document image is placed to require a gain correction value for outputting a read signal with predetermined image quality. The image reading device acquires the amount of light emission of a light source according to the position on the document platen on the basis of the acquired gain correction value, and reads the document image on the document platen with the acquired amount of light emission.
