The present invention improves antifriction performance. To this end, this pneumatic tire is one in which the tread-road surface (1) has a sipe (4) extending in a direction which intersects the tire-circumferential direction, wherein: the sipe width of the sipe is the maximum width thereof at a prescribed depth position (P1) of the sipe and a prescribed extension-direction position (P2) thereof; the sipe width gradually increases from both ends of the sipe in the extension direction thereof toward the prescribed extension-direction position (P2) while at the prescribed depth position (P1); and the sipe width gradually increases from both ends in the depth direction toward the prescribed depth position (P1) while at the prescribed extension-direction position (P2). |
