PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an adjustment time of a circuit for correcting a waveform distortion in a digital coherent receiver.SOLUTION: The digital coherent receiver that receives an optical signal in a wavelength multiplex optical signal includes: a front end circuit which generates a digital signal representing the received optical signal; a waveform distortion correction section which includes a plurality of distributed compensation parts and a plurality of nonlinear compensation parts and generates a correction result signal representing the received optical signal of which the waveform distortion is corrected by performing a digital arithmetic operation on the digital signal; and a control section for adjusting operational states of specific distributed compensation parts as many as a number corresponding to the number of spans on an optical transmission line of the received optical signal and specific nonlinear compensation parts as many as a number corresponding to the number of spans among the plurality of distributed compensation parts and the plurality of nonlinear compensation parts.
