[Class 44.] A device for securing sliding sashes in closed or partly open position comprises a perforated plate 7 secured to one sash and co-operating with a bolt 1 carried by the other sash. A strip of metal 4 provided with holes for securing screws, is bent as shown to provide oppositely disposed limbs having apertures in which the bolt is guided. A leaf spring 3 riveted to the strip bears against a screwed adjustable and detachable collar 5 on the bolt to shoot the bolt. One guide aperture has a slot extension to allow passage of a pin 6 on the bolt, which can be held in retracted or shot position by rotating the bolt to move pin 6 out of register with the slot. The bolt is operated by a knurled head 2. |
