In the present invention, a transmission device has a first generating unit, a second generating unit, and a transmission unit. The first generating unit generates data to be transmitted by broadcast. The second generating unit generates a message authentication code at least for the data generated by the first generating unit. The transmission unit performs broadcast transmission of the data generated by the first generating unit and of the message authentication code generated by the second generating unit. The second generating unit omits generating a message authentication code for some of the plurality of pieces of data generated by the first generating unit.
