PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that implements a driving method capable of suppressing a flicker.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix; a first electrode and a second electrode formed for each pixel; a common electrode; a second substrate arranged opposite the first substrate; a counter electrode formed on the second substrate; a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules whose dielectric anisotropy is positive; and a drive part which controls potentials of the first electrode, the second electrode, and at least one of the common electrode and counter electrode. The drive part writes the potentials of the first electrode and second electrode in order for a plurality of pixels, and inverts the high-low relation between the potential of the common electrode and the potential of the counter electrode in every inversion period. The length of a scanning period Tgs for writing the potentials of the first electrode and second electrode each once for a plurality of pixels is less than a half of the length of the inversion period. |
