EXPERIMENTAL APPARATUS TO SIMULATE THE CONTRACTION AND EXPANSION CAPABILITY OF HUMAN BODY ORGANS FOR PATHOPHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY

The present invention relates to an experimental apparatus for simulation of human body organs. More specifically, the experimental apparatus for simulation of contraction and expansion capability of human body organs comprises: an upper body which is cubic-shaped and includes a passage opened along the longitudinal direction of the bottom surface thereof; a thin film part which is coupled to the bottom surface of the upper body, and has a multiple-hole region corresponding to the center of the passage; a lower body which is coupled to the bottom surface of the thin film part, has elasticity within a first chamber in a cylindrical shape and formed at the center of the thin film part, and includes a second chamber partitioned by cylindrical partitions supporting a peripheral region of the multiple-hole region; and a vacuum passage which is formed at one side surface of the lower body and communicates to the first chamber. The cylindrical partitions moves according to vacuum pressure generated in the first chamber via the vacuum passage to expand and contract the multiple-hole region, thus cell layers can be cultured symbiotically to be separated by cell layer; mechanical stimulus (expansion and contraction) corresponding to a biomechanical environment of human body organs repeatedly expanding and contracting can be applied in all directions (±180°) with respect to the moving direction of a culture fluid to enable the monitoring of effects on human body organs due to agonists in vivo; and an environment similar to the conditions within human body organs can be provided to more accurately measure changes in pathophysiological properties and in cell barrier functions due to cell adhesion surface treatment, mechanical stimulus such as expansion and contraction, and external agonists.
