PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds which have 11&bgr;-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD) 1 inhibitory effect and are useful for prevention and/or treatment of metabolic abnormality, particularly diabetes and dyslipidemia.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to compounds represented by formula (I).
