PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To let pleats formed in an exterior body extend straight in the longitudinal direction, and make pull-in prevention property of an elastic telescopic member excellent in addition to excellent appearance and air permeability.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an underpants type disposable diaper includes: coating an adhesive agent 71 in the same vertical stripe shape pattern intermittent in the MD direction, to both surfaces of an outer surface of an inner layer 21 and an inner surface of an outer layer 22, while transporting the inner layer 21 and the outer layer 22 in the MD direction when forming a stretchable area; sandwiching an elastic telescopic member 19 continuously along the MD direction between the inner layer 21 and the outer layer 22, while sticking the inner layer 21 and the outer layer 22 to each other so as to join a MD direction position of the adhesive agent 71 of the inner layer 21 and a MD direction position of the adhesive agent 71 of the outer layer 22; and fastening the elastic telescopic member 19 to the inner layer 21 and the outer layer 22 by the adhesive agent 71.
