Provided are a path switching method and device. The method comprises: determining, by a controller, a main path and at least one standby path of a data flow, and issuing a flow table to a standby path switch, so that the standby path switch forwards the data flow according to the flow table after the data flow is switched from the main path to the standby path; and issuing, by the controller, a path group table to various failover switches respectively, wherein the path group table comprises a mark of the main path and standby port information, so that the various failover switches conduct path switching according to the standby port information when detecting that the main path fails according to the mark of the main path. By means of the method, the stability and high efficiency of data flow transmission can be guaranteed more effectively by conducting this kind of failure detection of path levels and switching after a failure. |
