An apparatus according to the present invention comprises a plurality of machines (10, 12, 14) arranged in a line along a longitudinal direction (x) coinciding with a supply direction of a blank (c). Each machine (10, 12, 14) is provided with rollers (18, 20, 22) arranged to be driven into rotation by individual motors to simultaneously process the blank (c), and a control unit arranged to control the motors. Each machine (10, 12, 14) is provided with a measuring means (24) adapted to provide the control unit of the machine with a measurement of an overall reaction exerted by the blank (c) on the rollers (18, 20, 22) of the machine along the longitudinal direction (x) while the blank (c) is being processed. The control unit of each machine (10, 12, 14) is arranged to torque-control the rollers (18, 20, 22) of the machine in a method where the overall reaction exerted by the blank (c) on the rollers (18, 20, 22) of the machine along the longitudinal direction (x) becomes equal to a predetermined value including zero while the blank (c) is being processed. |
