PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a subscriber side optical line termination device that transmits signals in different situations to perform signal superposition transmission corresponding to the respective transmission situations in TDMA in an optical communication system.SOLUTION: An optical communication system comprises: a station side optical line termination device that gives notice of transmission permission time representing time when transmission of an optical signal is permitted; and a subscriber side optical line termination device that transmits an optical signal according to the notice. The station side optical line termination device comprises: a communication unit that communicates with the subscriber side optical line termination device; and a generation unit that calculates filling permission time that can be used for transmitting actual data in the transmission permission time, and generates a notification signal to notify the subscriber side optical line termination device of the filling permission time. The subscriber side optical line termination device comprises: a communication unit that communicates with the station side optical line termination device; an analysis unit that analyzes the notification signal to obtain the filling permission time; and a generation unit that generates a transmission signal to be transmitted to the station side optical line termination device on the basis of the filling permission time. |
