摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not continuous spark discharge is normally generated after the exchange of parts accompanied by a failure or the like, in an ignitor 1 having an energy input circuit 9.SOLUTION: A failure diagnosis device A includes an ECU 4, an abnormality determination part 11, and a diagnosis tool 31, and functions as spark discharge compulsory means and abnormality determination means as follows. Firstly, the spark discharge compulsory means operates a main ignition circuit 8 according to an input of a variety of kinds of command signals, and succeedingly operates an energy input circuit 9. Then, the abnormality determination means determines whether or not spark discharge is generated by the execution of the spark discharge compulsory means, and continues for a prescribed period. By this constitution, it can be determined whether or not continuous spark discharge is normally generated in an ignitor 1 having the energy input circuit 9.
