PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suggest an electrical apparatus that can diagnose a voltage monitoring device based on whether a reset signal from the voltage monitoring device has been received by an operating unit, using a timing when resetting does not have influence on various devices connected to the operating unit, and a method for diagnosing a voltage monitoring device.SOLUTION: The electrical apparatus includes a power source, an operating unit, a voltage monitoring device, a voltage adjusting device, an influence removing device, and a flag register. The flag register makes a record of whether the voltage adjusting device has been activated, the influence removing device operates so as to affect voltages applied to the voltage monitoring device during the operation of the voltage adjusting device and does not affect voltages applied to the operating unit, the voltage monitoring device detects an abnormal voltage at the operation of the voltage adjusting device and sends a reset signal to the operating unit, and the operating unit diagnoses failures of the voltage monitoring device based on whether the reset signal has been received at the operation of the voltage adjusting device. |
