PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing device including a platen mechanism which applies suction force only to areas each corresponding to a position where a sheet is present and does not apply the suction force to the other areas even when curling or the like occurs at the front end of the sheet.SOLUTION: While feeding operation is performed, suction force is applied to all areas 10a to 10e of a platen 3. On the other hand, while printing operation is performed by a print head 6, the suction force is controlled so as to be applied to the areas 10a to 10c covered with a sheet S and is controlled so as not to be applied to the areas 10d and 10e not covered with the sheet S. |
