A debeading device for tire changing machines (81) comprising: a swing arm (11) having a hinging end (11A) hinged to a base (2) of a tire changing machine (1) and swinging in a swing plane between an active debeading position toward the base (2) and an inactive position away from the base (2); a debeading tool (14) supported at a free end (11B) of said arm (11), opposite to said hinging end (11A); actuator means for reciprocatingly rotating said arm (11) between said active and inactive positions, which comprise externally screw-threaded means (18) supported by said base (2) and rotatably actuated by motor means and screwingly/unscrewingly engaged in matingly threaded hollow means associated with said arm (1 1 ).
