PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying apparatus and an image forming apparatus capable of moving a moving member from a passage state to an abutment state before the front end of the next sheet is conveyed.SOLUTION: The sheet conveying device comprises a moving member 103A that has abutment portions 1031 and 1032 which abuts on a front end of a sheet conveyed by a first rotary pair, and is configured to move from an abutment state in which the abutment portions 1031 and 1032 are pressed by a front end of the sheet conveyed by the first rotator pair and project further into a sheet conveying path than a nip portion of a second rotator pair in the upstream side in a sheet conveying direction, to a passage state in which the sheet is allowed to pass through the abutment portions 1031 and 1032. The first rotator pair, the second rotator pair 209, and the moving member 103A are configured such that a rear end of the sheet does not pass on a moving trajectory of the abutment portions 1031 and 1032 which move from the passage state to the abutment state. |
