PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which has both functions of imaging and focus detection and is capable of suppressing the occurrence of moire.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a first photoelectric conversion element; a second photoelectric conversion element constituting a unit pixel together with the first photoelectric conversion element; a third photoelectric conversion element constituting a different unit pixel from the first photoelectric conversion element; a first lens for condensing incident light onto the first photoelectric conversion element and the third photoelectric conversion element; and a second lens for condensing incident light onto the second photoelectric conversion element. An imaging signal and a focus detection signal are generated on the basis of a first output signal generated by the first photoelectric conversion element and a second output signal generated by the second photoelectric conversion element.
