A sliding member (1) according to an aspect of the present invention comprises a substrate (2), and a thermally sprayed coating (10) formed on the sliding surface of the substrate (2). The thermally sprayed coating (10) includes a molybdenum phase (11), a chromium carbide phase (12), and a nickel-chromium alloy phase (13). The molybdenum phase (11), the chromium carbide phase (12), and the nickel-chromium alloy phase are deposited on the sliding surface of the substrate (2). If TCrC is the average value of the thickness tCrC of the chromium carbide phase (12) in a direction (Y) perpendicular to the surface of the substrate (2) and TMo is the average value of the thickness tMo of the molybdenum phase (11) in the same direction, TCrC/TMo is from 0.46 to 1.00. |
