[Class 39 (iii).] Water in a closed tank 2 is heated indirectly by water in an inner vessel 3 containing an electric heater 4 ; water enters the inner vessel 3 by overflow from the tank 2 until it reaches the bottom of an air vent tube 5 extending into the vessel 3 so that the water level is maintained constant therein below the top edge.
