<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of making a large swing for prevention against deterioration of a ball bearing in proper timing, and a ball bearing control method for the optical scanner.SOLUTION: A characteristic value showing the relation of a value of a current flowing to a coil and an angle of rotation of a mirror is monitored (S21). It is determined whether the characteristic value being monitored is larger than a threshold (S23). Based upon the result of the determination, a driver is made to rotate the mirror until the balls of the ball bearing make at least one rotation (S24).</p> |
