<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a facial image emphasizing shading by enhancing the difference between lightness-darkness of a facial image to cause it to appear chiseled and tense while suppressing an excessive enhancement. <P>SOLUTION: A facial image processing system includes arithmetic operation means 2 for various image processing based on input facial image information constituting an input facial image. The arithmetic operation means 2 divides the facial image information into first through fifth components in an amplitude-frequency space, where the first and second components represent facial construction components, the third component represents a stain component of a facial skin, the fourth component represents a crease component of the facial skin, and the fifth component represents a natural irregularity component of the facial skin, and extracts the first, second and fifth components, while eliminating the third and fourth components. A brightness enhancement process part 12 applies a brightness enhancement process to the first component, and a contour enhancement process part 13 applies a contour enhancement process to the second and fifth components, followed by an adder 14 synthesizing the first, second and fifth components to output the resultant output facial image information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
