<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display preview images of the front and the back sides of a page of a document to be printed by superimposing them in the way it is easier than before for users to distinguish between them. <P>SOLUTION: A terminal device 2 generates a synthetic image by combining the images of the first and the second sides, namely the front and the back sides, of a page of a document to be printed at a changed density ratio of first-side density to second-side density every time when the density ratio is changed.
