<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which allows a user to easily set a position on a work cloth for performing sewing.SOLUTION: A sewing machine 1 includes: an ultrasonic pen 91 for transmitting ultrasonic waves; and receivers 94 and 95 for receiving the ultrasonic waves. The receiver 94 is provided at lower left end of a head part 14, and the receiver 95 is provided at lower right end of the head part 14. A user makes a pen tip 911 of the ultrasonic pen 91 abut on a work cloth in a state of being placed on a bed part 11. Ultrasonic waves are transmitted from the ultrasonic pen 91. The sewing machine 1 acquires transmission timing when the ultrasonic waves are transmitted from the ultrasonic pen 91. The sewing machine 1 acquires detection timing when the ultrasonic waves are detected via the receivers 94 and 95. The sewing machine 1 specifies the position of a transmission source of the ultrasonic waves based on the transmission timing and the detection timing. The sewing machine 1 executes sewing based on the specified position.</p> |
