387,522. Rotary pumps. SWISS LOCOMOTIVE & MACHINE WORKS, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 11, 1932, No. 7330. Convention date, June 12, 1931. [Class 110 (ii).] A rotary pump comprises a cylindrical piston 2 eccentrically mounted in a cylinder 1 on a shaft 3, a supporting bearing 7 provided with an integral collar taking the thrust in one direction being arranged at one end of the shaft and a similar bearing 7 taking the thrust in the opposite direction being arranged at the other end of the shaft. The bearings limit the lateral movement of the piston so that the lateral clearances 4 of the bearings under any conditions of working are always less than the lateral clearances 6 between the ends of the piston and the cylinder covers. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a modification in which the integral collars are replaced by separate thrust ball bearings. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
