387,718. Floors, roofs, &c. casting floors in situ. DRABBLE, E. A., Far End, Somerset Way, Iver, Buckinghamshire, and HEWITT, A. E., Edrene, Harrow Road, Sudbury, Middlesex. Aug. 13, 1931, No. 22858. [Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv).] Reinforced-concrete slabs for floors, roofs, bridge decking, and like structures, comprise metal forms 1 of inverted channel form with flanges 2 in alignment to receive concrete c, the forms spanning between the walls, joists, or other supports, and remaining as part of the finished structure. Part of the sides and top of the forms may be of mesh or expanded metal. In the floor construction shown, the forms are supported at one end on brickwork 3 and at the other end on a girder 4 preferably provided with a concrete embrasure b. Reinforcement 5, 6 is embedded in the concrete c supporting the floor d. The reinforcement 6, which is supported by metal bridges 8, may carry hooks or clips 11 to support a sheet of mesh or expanded metal 10 on which a plaster ceiling is formed. Near the ends of the forms the concrete c is cast solid between the soffit ribs a, the concrete being positioned by means of stop plates 7, Fig. 5, of L-section. Straps 9 with hooked ends 9a may be provided to prevent spreading of the form walls 1a. In the construction of stepped terrace shown in Fig. 7, the form 1 has walls 1a of unequal depth. |
