The invention relates to an inspection device and an inspection method for inspecting containers by means of illumination. The inspection device is provided with a conveying line (3) for conveying of the containers, and two shooting units (4, 5), each comprising a camera (41, 51), a mirror cabinet (42, 52) and a light screen (43, 53) which is arranged near the conveying line (3) in an opposite manner relative to the camera and the mirror cabinet and is provided with a a light exit plate (43a, 53a). The conveying line (3) is characterized in that the light exit plates (43a, 53a) of the two light screens (43, 53) extend in the direction substantially parallel to the conveying line (3) and are arranged transverse to the conveying direction (R)in an opposite manner, in addition the light exit plates (43a, 53a) are designed to be electrically switchable between a diffusing and a transparent state. |
