Hearing aid with parallel feedback reduction filters and method

The device has a signal-processing apparatus (12) for processing an input signal into an output signal, and a feedback-compensation apparatus reducing feedback artifacts. The compensation apparatus has a filter (14) i.e. finite impulse response-filter, for producing filter coefficients for a predefined feedback situation. The compensation apparatus has another filter (17) i.e. infinite impulse response, operated parallel to the former filter based on the coefficients. The compensation apparatus automatically selects either the former filter or the latter filter in the current situation. An independent claim is also included for a method for compensating feedback in a hearing device.
