A stove (100, Fig. 1) for heating a room comprises a housing (102, Fig. 1) having front (106, Fig. 2), rear (108, Fig. 1) and side (110, 112, Fig. 2) portions; a combustion chamber 120 sealed from an interior of the housing (102, Fig. 1) and a door 140 on the front portion of the housing sealing at least one opening (134, 136, Fig. 4) to the chamber 120. An inlet duct (190, Fig. 8) upstream of the chamber 120 allows air external from the room into the chamber 120 and an outlet duct (202, Fig. 8) allows waste combustion gases to flow from the chamber 120 to outside the room. Outlet duct (202, Fig 8) comprises a heat transfer unit (204, Fig. 9) to transfer heat from the waste combustion gases via heat exchanging ducts (222, Fig. 9) with air within the room, and an outlet unit (232, Fig. 10) for exhausting the waste gases externally of the room. The stove may comprise a fuel storage bin (148, fig 7), an auger conveyer feed mechanism (154, Fig. 7) and a grate (164, Fig. 6). |
