<p>A blank 1 for a container for a food product, the blank comprises a substantially rectangular base 2, four substantially rectangular side walls 3, 4, 5 and 6 extending from each side of said base. Each adjacent side wall being joined together by a web 11, 12, 13 and 14. A rectangular lid 17 extends from at least one of the side walls. The blank incorporates at least one window 18, 19 which spans between a region of the base and a region of a substantially rectangular side wall such that at least a portion of the base comprises a spine 20 which spans uninterruptedly from one side wall to a side wall located at the opposite side of the base. The blank is assembled to form a substantially cuboid container with the lid secured to the rectangular side walls, whereby when the blank is assembled, the webs are disposed inwardly such that each side wall is brought into close proximity with its adjacent side walls. Each web may comprise of two triangular sections 15, 16 and an elongate flange may be joined to each of the side walls.</p> |
