PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fatigue failure of a membrane electrode assembly.SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes: a power generation module having a membrane electrode assembly and a pair of diffusion layers; a pair of separators laminated so as to sandwich the power generation module therebetween; and a sealing part disposed on the outer periphery of the power generation module. An end surface of a first diffusion layer is positioned inside of an end surface of a second diffusion layer so that a space is formed between the end surface of the first diffusion layer and an end surface of the sealing part which faces the end surface of the first diffusion layer. At least one of a first specific portion of the first diffusion layer, which is adjacent to the space and is in contact with a contact part of the separators, and a second specific portion of the second diffusion layer, which faces the space and is in contact with a contact part of the separators, is impregnated with a resin. |
