PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device which improves transmission performance.SOLUTION: An optical transmission device is an optical transmission device in an optical transmission system for transmitting a signal light by using transmission fiber. The optical transmission device comprises: a power monitor; a calculating section; a transmission level determining section; and a power controlling section. The power monitor and the calculating section measure Raman gain efficiency of the transmission fiber. The transmission level determining section determines an input level of the signal light on the basis of the measured Raman gain efficiency. The power controlling section controls a level of the signal light to be input to the transmission fiber to realize the determined input level. |
