A handle assembly 2 comprises a housing 8 attachable to a surface and at least one handle portion 4. A latching mechanism 16 is at least partially contained within the housing and controlled by a moveable member, which is connected to the latching mechanism through at least one aperture 14 in the housing. The at least one aperture is at least partially covered, helping to prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture. The latching mechanism may comprise a moveable bar 26, a spring 28 and a lever 18. The lever may be moveable between first and second configurations corresponding to unlatched and latched configuration of the mechanism. First and second apertures may be formed either side of the lever and may be screened by first and second covers 30, 32. The first cover may be integral with the housing whilst the second may be recessed within the housing. |
