<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing purified pentamethylenediamine wth a high yield with simple production steps. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing purified pentamethylenediamine includes: a thermal decomposition step of heating pentamethylenediamine carbonate to obtain crude pentamethylenediamine and carbon dioxide; and a distillation step of distilling the crude pentamethylenediamine obtained in the thermal decomposition step to obtain pentamethylenediamine, wherein the concentration of the pentamethylenediamine is 30 mol% or more relative to the total 100 mol% of the pentamethylenediamine and the pentamethylenediamine carbonate in the crude pentamethylenediamine.
