摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch input device having good sensitivity to various contact objects. <P>SOLUTION: A peak detector section 16 receives electrostatic capacitance data C<SB POS="POST">i,j</SB>, which is generated every frame and represents electrostatic capacitance of each of a plurality of sensor electrodes SE, and determines a peak capacitance value data C<SB POS="POST">PEAK</SB>corresponding to the largest electrostatic capacitance. An arithmetic processing section 18 compares the peak capacitance value data C<SB POS="POST">PEAK</SB>generated every frame to a threshold value TH to determine presence of a touch by a user.
